CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for building strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and handling a variety of products. They must be able to read and speak English to communicate effectively with customers and handle paperwork. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer and deliver various products to customer locations on assigned routes.
• Manually unload/deliver products as needed.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Handle a variety of products, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.
• Communicate effectively with customers and handle paperwork.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and speak English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year customer delivery experience preferred.
• 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.
• 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.

Qualifications

• Submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must have the ability to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Must have a positive, friendly attitude and be familiar with customer operations.
