CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for building strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high safety standards. They also handle a variety of products and may need to lift, push, or move items weighing up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver various products to customer locations on assigned routes.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Handle a variety of products, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.
• Lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a driving record meeting company insurability standards.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1 year customer delivery experience.
• Preferred 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience.
• Preferred 6 months Food and Beverage experience.
• Preferred 2 years consistent work history.

Skills

Strong communication skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. The ability to lift and move heavy objects is also required.
