CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

About the Role

Our drivers are responsible for building strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and handling a variety of products. They also need to be flexible, able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver various products to customer locations.
• Manually unload/deliver products to customer locations according to the assigned route schedule.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Be familiar with customer operations to meet their needs and expectations.
• Handle a variety of products, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Pass employment testing.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer delivery experience preferred.
• 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.
• 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.
