Pneumatic Drivers – Local Freight

Freight Type: Powdered cement
Local Routes: Home daily
Average pay: $1,300–$1,600 per week

What You'll Do

• Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, general commodities, and specialized cargo.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects, accidents, or violations promptly.
• Load, secure, and inspect cargo; follow special handling procedures for hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight.
• Maintain accurate HOS logs and all required DOT/FMCSA documentation.
• Verify bills of lading, collect signatures/receipts, and ensure all paperwork is complete and correct.
• Plan routes and schedules to meet pickup and delivery windows.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance (fluids, minor repairs); keep trailer clean and ready.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL — required.
• HazMat endorsement preferred not required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• TWIC card preferred not required.
• Must pass and maintain all DOT/FMCSA physical requirements.

Pay

• Starting Compensation: 25% of Line Haul
• 90 day Increase to: 28% of Line Haul
• Additional Pay For All Driver Types: Additional stop pay, short haul loads, detention, driver unload / assist unload, HazMat loads, holiday pay, trailer spotting / extra drop hook, breakdown pay
