Wooster Motor Ways is seeking a dependable, safety-first Company Driver to haul freight across regional lanes, with a focus on powdered cement transport.

About the Role

  • Local routes with home daily
  • Average pay: $1,300–$1,600 per week
  • Starting compensation: 25% of Line Haul
  • 90-day increase to 28% of Line Haul

Pay

  • 25% of Line Haul (increases to 28% after 90 days)
  • Additional pay for:
    • Additional stops
    • Short haul loads
    • Detention
    • Driver unload / assist unload
    • HazMat loads
    • Holiday pay
    • Trailer spotting / extra drop hook
    • Breakdown pay

Equipment

  • International LT trucks equipped with:
    • Microwave
    • Refrigerator

Responsibilities

  • Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, general commodities, and specialized cargo
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects, accidents, or violations promptly
  • Load, secure, and inspect cargo; follow special handling procedures for hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight
  • Maintain accurate HOS logs and all required DOT/FMCSA documentation
  • Verify bills of lading, collect signatures/receipts, and ensure all paperwork is complete and correct
  • Plan routes and schedules to meet pickup and delivery windows
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance (fluids, minor repairs); keep trailer clean and ready

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL — required
  • HazMat endorsement preferred, not required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • TWIC card preferred, not required
  • Must pass and maintain all DOT/FMCSA physical requirements
