CDL-A Flatbed Driver

About the Role

Rouse Trucking is hiring experienced CDL-A flatbed drivers to haul coils, pipe, building materials, and similar freight. Routes primarily run east of I-35, with pay provided for both loaded and empty miles. This position includes hands-on responsibilities such as tarping and load securement, with additional compensation for every load.

Responsibilities

• Haul flatbed freight, including coils, pipe, and building materials
• Perform tarping on approximately 3 out of 5 loads
• Ensure proper load securement

Earnings

• 70 CPM for loaded and empty miles
• Weekly earnings of $1,700 to $1,800
• Additional $30 paid on every load
• $5,000 sign-on bonus for solo drivers

Schedule

• Home time every 7–14 days with a 34–48 hour reset
• Established routes and regional freight for consistent scheduling

Equipment

• Assigned 2020–2025 Peterbilt 567 and 579 tractors
• Automatic and manual transmission options
• 2024 48-foot spread-axle flatbed trailers
• Trucks governed at 70 MPH
• Assigned trucks may be taken home with safe parking

Getting Started

• Transition pay during the first few weeks
• Training on routes, scheduling, and dispatch operations

Rider & Pet Options

• One pet allowed (no breed or weight restrictions, cats allowed)
• One passenger (age 10+) may ride with required liability form

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A license
• At least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience within the last 5 years
• Minimum 6 months of flatbed experience
• Tarping and load securement experience
