CDL A Driver
About the role
The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Reworld facilities and client locations. This role operates a variety of equipment including vacuum tankers, vacuum trucks, vans, and flatbeds. This is a local position covering Western and Central NY, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Operate all equipment safely and in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to designated facilities while meeting scheduled appointments.
- Ensure proper placarding of the vehicle in accordance with DOT requirements.
- Maintain accurate paperwork including manifests, job sheets, e-logs, timesheets, expense reports, and inspection reports.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking tires, lights, brakes, fluids, and safety equipment.
- Secure all cargo prior to and during transit.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be 21 or older due to interstate commercial driving requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- CDL Class A with Tanker endorsement required.
- Hazmat endorsement highly preferred.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to use a tablet for electronic logs.
- Must comply with all DOT regulations at all times.
Physical Demands
- Ability to climb, bend, lift, and secure hoses and equipment as needed.
- Ability to safely enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times per shift.
- Must meet DOT medical certification requirements.
Shift Details
- Local regional driving throughout Western/Central NY, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
- Monday–Friday schedule.
- 10–12 hour shifts.
- Occasional weekend overtime based on workload.
