About the role
McLane Foodservice Burlington is seeking a CDL-A Delivery Truck Driver who is ready to take on local delivery routes. This role offers competitive compensation averaging $65,000 to $110,000 annually, with an average of 45-50 hours per week and a 4-day work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
- Operate truck safely in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
- Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) to document delivery receipts, product temperatures, and exceptions.
- Inspect trailer to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport.
- Ride and train with a Driver Trainer to various destinations, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations and observing proper engine start-up, intersection approach, turning, backing, and parking techniques.
- Document delivery receipts, product temperatures, and exceptions in the driver log according to DOT regulations.
- Assist the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product into customer premises.
- Provide customer service including on-time delivery of undamaged product, handling product returns, and issuing valid customer credits.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A).
- At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience.
Qualifications
- Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
- Regular and frequent travel, including overnight stays.
- Ability to work weekends and/or holidays.
