CDL A Delivery Driver

Average pay $75,000 - $100,000+ annually with uncapped pay potential, quarterly safety bonuses, and unlimited referral bonuses ($2,500 per referral).

About the role

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition. They also serve as the face of our company, building lasting relationships with customers.

The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and timely. They function as team members within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; ensure they meet company safety standards and report any issues or repairs needed.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report any safety hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
• Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bringing them to driver check-in and completing necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
• Unload all equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
• Comply with daily record-keeping and hours of service requirements, adhering to DOT, state, and company policies.
• Uphold safety standards and follow guidelines for proper freight handling throughout the delivery process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meets PFG Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) requirements for the past 3 years.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and meet PFG FMCSA Clearinghouse Requirements.
• Pass road test.
• Able to secure a new DOT Medical Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (generally 60 to 90 pounds) throughout the shift.
• Ability to work the assigned schedule required for the position.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; proficiency is required.
