CDL-A Driver position with competitive pay and a $10,000 sign-on bonus: $3,000 paid after 90 days, remaining $7,000 paid on 1-year anniversary (terms apply; prior PFG employees ineligible).

$80,000–$85,000 annually.

Schedule

Sunday–Thursday, dispatching after 7 pm, 4–5 day work week.

About the role

Food and food-service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, while serving as the face of our company and building lasting customer relationships.

The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely, timely, and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, answer questions accurately, and function as team members within the department and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; ensure equipment meets company safety standards and report any issues or repairs needed.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe-driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked/secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring to driver check-in, and complete necessary end-of-shift paperwork.
  • Unload equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Comply with daily record-keeping and hours-of-service requirements, adhering to DOT, state, and company policies.
  • Uphold safety standards and follow guidelines for proper freight handling throughout the delivery process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 year of commercial driving experience.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Meet PFG Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) requirements for the past 3 years.
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and meet PFG FMCSA Clearinghouse Requirements.
  • Pass road test.
  • Able to secure a new DOT Medical Card.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (generally 60–90 pounds) throughout shift.
  • Ability to work the assigned schedule required for the position.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; English language proficiency is required.
