Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Loading and unloading: Secure scrap metal materials onto the trailer, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
- Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and the most efficient paths to minimize travel time.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the maintenance department.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the delivery and receipt of scrap metal materials.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
- Handle scrap metal materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams to ensure the efficient execution of deliveries and pickups.
Requirements
- Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial driving experience.
- Experience pulling doubles very helpful but not needed.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Ability to strap own load.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Schedule
