CDL A/B Local Delivery Truck Driver

About the role

Deliver food and restaurant items using a company vehicle, ensuring freshness every day.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to deliver products to customers.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain vehicle supplies and equipment to ensure proper working condition.
• Operate vehicle safely, obeying all traffic laws and established traffic patterns.
• Safely utilize a 2-wheeled dolly to unload products from the truck.
• Provide excellent customer service during product delivery.
• Complete required invoicing; turn in all receipts and cash collections from deliveries.
• Maintain records such as vehicle logs, manifests, and invoices in accordance with regulations.
• Immediately report any mechanical problems encountered with the vehicle.

Requirements

• 21+ years of age.
• Pass employment testing.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of customer delivery experience.
• 6 months of hand cart/hand truck experience.
• 6 months of food and beverage experience.
• 2 years of consistent work history.

Working Conditions

• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot/cold, wet/dry) depending on the season.
• Enter coolers or freezer areas to deliver products.
• Moderate noise levels.

Physical Requirements

• Drive for long periods of time.
• Walk, sit, speak, read, and hear.
• Bend, reach above/below shoulders, and lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
