About the role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition while serving as the face of our company and building lasting customer relationships. This is a local delivery driver position, Monday through Friday, focused on delivering and/or unloading food and food-related products to customers safely and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; ensure equipment meets company safety standards and report any issues or repairs needed.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report all safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route and delivery schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas; perform damage control checks and handle returns according to company policy.
  • Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures; collect payment (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure all equipment is appropriately locked and secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns at driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and log entries in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers; keep equipment clean and clear.
  • Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL A or B.
  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Attain or hold a valid current DOT health card or be able to secure a new one.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10–90 pounds) throughout the shift.

Pay

$70,000 - $80,000/year after a 45-day training period, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Day shift: 4:00 AM – usually end by 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday (weekends off).
