CCU Patient Care Assistant
Overview
We are seeking a C CU Patient Care Assistant II, sometimes referred to as a Coronary Care Unit (CCU) Nurse Aide, Patient Care Partner (PCP) or a C CU PCA. Our Coronary Care Unit Patient Care Assistant (C CU PCA) supports the CCU nursing team by providing direct patient care for critically ill patients. The C CU PCA will assist with daily activities, monitor patient status, and help ensure a safe, efficient environment for both patients and clinical staff.

Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am to 7:00pm / every other weekend

Responsibilities
- Assist CCU nurses with patient care such as bathing, repositioning, vital signs, intake/output, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or equipment alarms
- Perform advanced skills allowed at the PCA II level (often EKGs, glucose checks, catheter care, wound care assistance, etc., depending on hospital policy)
- Stock and maintain supplies, equipment, and patient rooms to support ICU workflow
- Assist with transporting patients, preparing rooms for admissions, and supporting emergency response situations
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate effectively with the care team
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS (AHA) or within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office (a plus)
- Phlebotomy certification (a plus)
- EKG certification (a plus)
