About the role

The Superintendent of Schools oversees all aspects of the district's educational programs and operations. Reporting directly to the Board of Education, the Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that the district meets its educational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of the district’s strategic plan and annual budget.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal education laws and regulations.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the district, including schools, administrative offices, and support services.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, including parents, students, teachers, and other school personnel.
• Provide leadership and guidance to ensure high-quality educational programs and services are provided to all students.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• A master’s degree in education administration or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in education, including at least 5 years of supervisory or administrative experience.
• Knowledge of Georgia’s educational policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
