CCMA Adjunct Faculty - Jay County

About the role

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. They are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided; facilitating student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives; making optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods; developing/maintaining course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; maintaining accurate student records, grades, and other requirements; engaging with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leading to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College; showing evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.

Responsibilities

• Delivers assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
• Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
• Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
• Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

Requirements

• Possesses an earned associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Has a minimum of 2-years of direct work experience as a medical assistant or as an RN or LPN in an ambulatory care setting where they performed administrative, clinical and laboratory duties as outlined in the COR of MEAS 225.
• Possesses both of the following: Current professional certification in the field (CMA, CCMA, or RMA); Completed academic preparation appropriate to the course being taught.

Qualifications

Qualified faculty member teaching MEAS 225 meets the Medical Assisting program standard.

Skills

Knowledge of and ability to implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
