Responsibilities
- Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on specific applicable T/M/S aircraft airframe, ordnance, egress/life support system, power plants, corrosion control and painting, and related systems.
- Hired to maintain aircraft structures, aircraft ordnance systems, egress systems, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
- Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, aviation ordnance systems, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe, ordnance and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
- Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required.
- Routine ordnance loading will require team lifts of ordnance items up to 167 pounds’ load share per team member, in accordance with standard USN procedures.
- Directs Level I or II work center personnel to accomplish specific maintenance actions as required to accomplish maintenance tasking in accordance with Department of Labor Skill Code definitions.
- Solves complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
Qualifications
- Airframes and Power Plant Certified Inspector.
- Certified Candidates may not need to meet the qualifications listed.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in USN/USMC/USCG O-Level maintenance in the specific T/M hired to maintain.
- This experience relates to structural repairs, hydraulics, egress, ordnance or power plants/related systems.
- Three years T/M experience within the last seven years.
- Current state Driver’s License.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completed the appropriate T/M/S Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school in airframe, ordnance, egress, hydraulic, power plants and related systems or USMC, USCG equivalent.
- Aviation Ordnance candidates experience shall be minimum 10 years O-Level experience.
- Candidates must have been released from military service with an Honorable Discharge to meet minimum qualifications.
Specialized Training
- Specialized training courses are desirable.
