CATS Bus Driver

About the role

The City of Rawlins is seeking a part-time CATS Bus Driver to operate transit vehicles, assist passengers, and transport them safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate transit vehicles following precise schedules employing defensive driving techniques
• Conduct pre and post trip inspections of transit vehicles for mechanical problems
• Assist passengers on and off the bus, assist with mobility aids, operate accessibility lift, and transport passengers safely
• Comply with ADA in operating the transit vehicle
• Provide customer service information in a courteous, professional manner
• Communicate with transit dispatch for fare information and other CATS Transit policies and rules
• Collect and record fares
• Complete accident and incident reports accurately and legibly

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• CDL with passenger endorsement

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of driving experience and preferred one (2) years of experience performing above or related duties
• Working Knowledge of current bus routes and stops within the City; transit system operations, routing and scheduling
• Basic customer relations techniques, i.e. fostering a positive attitude, maintain a courteous, helpful and professional demeanor, etc.
• Principles and procedures of record keeping; basic mathematic functions
• Some knowledge of stress management

Skills

Benefits

Part-time (30 hours per week) position starting at $27,315.60 annually with benefits.
