Catholic Nursery Caregiver

About the role

The Nursery staff cares for infants and toddlers who are 2 years old and younger. We maintain a small adult to child ratio.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
• Follow curriculum and grading guidelines provided by Regina Caeli Academy.
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members.
• Organize daily activities to support the development of infants and toddlers.
• Have a deep love for babies and toddlers.

Requirements

• No certification or formal teaching experience is required.
• You will be taught everything you need to know.
• Experience with babysitting, childcare, parenting, homeschooling, or working with homeschool children, ministry in your Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or teaching in a classical or private school is beneficial but not required.
• A love for babies and toddlers is required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Good organization.
• Timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.

Skills

• Ability to work with infants and toddlers.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles.
• Patience and empathy.

Schedule

Mondays and Thursdays 8:30 am - 4:00 pm during the academic year. No childcare is provided for training, but nursing babies are always welcome. Applicants must attend 1 day of staff training on August 3, 4, or 5, 2026 (TBD) from 8am - 5pm.
