Catholic Middle/High School Latin Teacher

About the role

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Catholic Middle/High School Latin teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for up to 13 hours per week at their center in Lapeer, Michigan. Classes may include Latin, Math, and Science.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a classical and Catholic classroom setting
• Teach up to 13 hours per week
• Teach Latin, Math, and Science
• Sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
• Have a deep love for the Catholic faith
• Prepare lesson plans and curriculum at home
• Be willing to teach in a highly structured environment

Requirements

• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required
• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children is preferred
• Experience in ministry in a Catholic parish is preferred
• Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes is preferred
• Experience teaching in a classical or private school is preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Good organization
• Timeliness
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including receiving all sacraments appropriate to one's state in life

Qualifications

• Standard computer skills - ideally with Google Suite or an equivalent

• Mandatory training on August 10, 11, and 12, 2026, prior to working in the classroom (8am-5pm; no childcare provided, nursing babies always welcome)
