Cath Lab Technician Senior
About the role
The Senior Cath Lab Technician performs a wide range of advanced imaging and interventional procedures in accordance with professional standards and departmental guidelines within an acute hospital setting. This role supports physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, ensures the safe operation of imaging equipment, maintains high-quality imaging results, and monitors patient status throughout procedures. The Senior Cath Lab Technician also oversees supply management, assists with scheduling and workflow coordination, provides education and in-service support for Cath Lab staff, and serves as the primary preceptor for new technicians.
Responsibilities
- Performs a wide range of advanced imaging and interventional procedures in accordance with professional standards and departmental guidelines within an acute hospital setting.
- Safeguards the safe operation of imaging equipment.
- Maintains high-quality imaging results.
- Maintains patient status throughout procedures.
- Oversight of supply management.
- Aids in scheduling and workflow coordination.
- Provides education and in-service support for Cath Lab staff.
- Serves as the primary preceptor for new technicians.
Requirements
- Licensed by the state as a radiation operator.
- One (1) year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab required.
Qualifications
- ARRT - Required.
- Vascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiac Interventional (CI) Registry - preferred.
- BLS, ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
