About the role
Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Qualifications
- Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years), Geriatric (=>65 years)
- Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, or 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab
- Preferred Education: Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification
- Necessary Skills:
- Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult)
- Ability to use hospital computer system
- Knowledge of filing system
- Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility
- Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics
- Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge
- Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment
- Patient advocate skills
- Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association, ACLS from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- Required Experience: Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care
