About the role

Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years), Geriatric (=>65 years)
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, or 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab
• Preferred Education: Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification
• Necessary Skills:
  • Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult)
  • Ability to use hospital computer system
  • Knowledge of filing system
  • Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility
  • Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics
  • Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge
  • Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment
  • Patient advocate skills
• Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association, ACLS from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
• Required Experience: Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care
