Cath Lab RN

About the role

We are seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse, also known as a Cardiac RN or Cath Lab RN. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of cardiac catheterization procedures, playing a significant part in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (Pre-Procedure Preparation)
• Auxiliary cardiologists during procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiological studies, and other cardiac interventions (Intra-Procedure Assistance)
• Maintain patient stability post-procedure, provide post-procedure instructions, and ensure patient discharge or transfer to another unit if necessary
• Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the catheterization lab, such as hemodynamic monitors and diagnostic tools
• Respond quickly to any emergencies or complications that may arise during procedures, such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, or bleeding
• Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure details, and post-procedure outcomes
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care and catheterization techniques

Requirements

• Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License
• Current BCLS (AHA) and ACLS certificates upon hire and ongoing maintenance
• One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred

Shifts available: Days, Hours: 8 am to 4 pm, plus call coverage.
