Catering - Lead
About the role
The Florida Aquarium is seeking a Catering Lead to join our team. This role involves executing catering events, providing excellent customer service, and managing food service operations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, welcoming, and memorable experiences for guests and clients.
- Oversee quality, product levels, and inventory of products.
- Fulfill guest needs quickly and efficiently, resolving complaints effectively.
- Oversee setup, execution, breakdown, and cleanup of buffets, stations, and other food & beverage services.
- Lead communication between back-of-house and front-of-house teams.
- Interpret and execute BEOs to high standards.
- Possess expert knowledge of menus, food presentation, and service techniques.
- Perform strenuous manual labor as required.
- Supervise and train staff across all departments.
- Communicate clearly and openly with all staff members.
- Display a sense of urgency and maintain a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on team building and partnership.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Operate all necessary equipment for job duties.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
Job Requirements
- One to two years of catering experience preferred.
- BEO knowledge and execution preferred.
