Catering/Food Service Utility/Dishwasher

Responsibilities

Assist Zoo’s Catering and Food Service Departments with dishwashing responsibilities both during and after events.

• Organizing the food and beverage storage areas
• Assisting with the preparation work associated with catering business
• Washing dishes at a variety of Zoo locations
• Cleaning projects in the kitchen and restaurant areas
• Working on the front line
• Working on minor maintenance projects
• Assisting the Catering Manager on other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Working experience in a restaurant/kitchen required
• Familiarity with basic fundamentals of food safety and sanitation required
• Prior customer service experience is preferred
• Must be able to take direction and also work independently when applicable
• Must have flexible work hours
• Work schedules include weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays
• Must have the physical ability to work on your feet and be able to walk the Zoo grounds for several hours at a time
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
• All successful candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background check
