About the Role

Our client, a luxury hospitality organization in West Hollywood, is seeking an experienced Catering & Private Events Manager to drive private event sales while overseeing the planning and execution of high-end weddings, corporate meetings, social events, and special functions across multiple unique event venues. This individual will own the client relationship from initial inquiry through event completion, ensuring exceptional service and memorable guest experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales-driven hospitality professional who enjoys building relationships, creating customized events, and working closely with culinary and operations teams in a luxury environment with strong long-term growth potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate new catering and private event business through prospecting, networking, referrals, community outreach, and relationship development.
  • Conduct venue tours, prepare customized proposals, negotiate contracts, and close new business to achieve revenue goals.
  • Manage weddings, corporate meetings, receptions, galas, private dinners, themed events, and other special functions from initial inquiry through successful execution.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to develop customized menus while ensuring food and beverage offerings align with client expectations and profitability goals.
  • Develop event timelines, floor plans, production schedules, and logistical plans while coordinating with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Oversee on-site event execution, ensuring seamless operations, exceptional guest service, and prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Manage event budgets, pricing, deposits, final payments, and profitability while preparing sales and revenue reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with wedding planners, corporate clients, entertainment providers, decorators, audiovisual companies, photographers, florists, and other preferred vendors.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of catering, private events, hospitality sales, or event management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Luxury hotel, resort, or luxury residential hospitality experience required.
  • Proven success generating new business and achieving catering or event revenue goals.
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage operations, banquet service, menu planning, and event execution.
  • Experience managing weddings, corporate meetings, social events, and large-scale private functions.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, presentation, project management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred

  • Experience with Delphi event management software.
  • Experience with Canary hospitality software.
  • Server and/or bartending experience.
  • Experience creating themed events and coordinating entertainment programming.
