About the role

You will create a consistent quality product and culinary experience while providing exceptional customer service, presentation, and a clean and safe eating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality food product in taste, appearance, and portion size
  • Read and follow Company recipes
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and sanitary work area
  • Manage time effectively to stay on track
  • Adhere to daily menu and prep lists
  • Work independently on assigned station
  • Anticipate customers’ needs and build rapport with repeat customers
  • Provide a positive experience through engagement and presentation
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers
  • Suggestively sell add-ons to orders
  • Demonstrate food handling, sanitation, and safety knowledge
  • Maintain good hygiene and hand-washing practices
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Understand food labeling, serving temperatures, and FIFO
  • Use all kitchen equipment properly and report deficiencies
  • Demonstrate knife handling skills and cooking techniques such as braising, sauté, sear, and grill
  • Perform proper recipe conversion and measuring
  • Take on additional projects and assignments as needed

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of previous cooking experience preferred
  • Good basic knife and production skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • Willingness to jump in where needed and learn new skills
  • Flexibility to change and take direction well
  • Positive attitude and ability to lead by example
  • Enjoys working with others and being “hands-on” with customers
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Serve Safe and Allergen Certification preferred
  • In process or completion of culinary education preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Valid Chauffeur’s License required upon hire
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) certification
