We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Catering Captain to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Catering Captain, you will be responsible for prepping and serving high-quality food for various events, ensuring that every detail is executed with precision and care. Your expertise in food management, customer service, and team leadership will be essential in creating memorable occasions for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control, ensuring all food supplies are adequately stocked and maintained.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS (catertrax?) for efficient order processing.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining financial accountability.
- Train and supervise staff in food handling, safety practices, and customer service protocols.
- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with event planners to customize menus that meet client specifications.
- Provide exceptional customer service during events, addressing any guest inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Aid in budgeting for catering events to ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards.
- Participate in the hiring process, including interviewing potential candidates for kitchen staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within quick service or fast food environments.
- Background in fine dining or casual dining settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry.
- Experience in hospitality management or restaurant management roles is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively, with experience in training & development of staff members.
- Familiarity with kitchen management practices, including shift management and supervising kitchen operations.
- Previous experience in catering services or banquet operations is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Food Handlers Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
