About the role

The TikTok Shop US operation team aims to deliver high quality products together with a unique customer experience via TikTok. We are looking for a highly analytical, business-oriented, and self-motivated intern to join the User Growth Strategy team supporting the TIKTOP SHOP EBHV (Electronics, Books, Home & Living & Verticals) business.

Responsibilities

  • Support user growth strategy by conducting data-driven analyses and identifying actionable business opportunities.
  • Analyze user lifecycle, acquisition, retention, and purchasing behaviors to identify key growth drivers.
  • Conduct industry and category analyses to evaluate growth opportunities across users, products, merchants, channels, and categories.
  • Identify high-potential acquisition products, merchants, and supply characteristics to support category growth initiatives.
  • Build analytical frameworks to answer business questions and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Write SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets.
  • Prepare business review materials, strategy presentations, and executive-ready insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Strategy, Category, Product, Marketing, and Data Science on high-impact growth initiatives.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and strategic projects as business needs arise.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience using Python (Pandas, NumPy, etc.) for data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and time manage high profile initiatives, curious, self-motivated, bias-for-action (“no task is too small” mentality).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with TikTok and other content platforms; experience in content-based e-commerce is highly preferred.
