The Senior Category Specialist within NextEra Energy Resources' Operating Fleet Sourcing Department plays a pivotal role in strategy formulation and execution for large areas of spend. Responsibilities

• Defines and manages category sourcing strategy
• Conducts market and spend analysis
• Supports procurement with source-to-pay activities
• Mets with Business Units to collect requirements and feedback
• Participates in cross-functional meetings and initiatives
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Grad / GED
• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
• Experience: 3+ years

Qualifications

• Deep supplier management experience including market mapping, developing strategic partnerships, executing RFx events, evaluating bids, negotiating pricing/terms/SLAs, and managing performance scorecards and corrective actions.
• High proficiency with analytical tools and the ability to convert complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.

Skills

• Ability to interpret spend and market data, forecast demand and industry trends, and translate analyses into clear recommendations and measurable value.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to connect category strategies to P&L impact, business risk, and operational outcomes.
• Ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders across business units, leadership, and suppliers by translating business objectives into sourcing strategies and driving cross-functional alignment.
