Role Summary
This position is responsible for both supporting and leading enterprise strategic sourcing and corporate sourcing efforts across the organization, including a variety of supply chain/procurement-related sourcing and bidding activities for a midstream oil and gas organization. The incumbent is charged with developing, negotiating, implementing, and maintaining competitively advantageous supply arrangements as a sourcing functional expert, while serving as a key member of the business teams they support (including IT, Legal, HR, Safety, and Finance).
Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Develop, negotiate, implement, and sustain sourcing strategies and supply contracts consistent with business objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise (including IT, Legal, HR, Safety, and Finance) to understand requirements, align sourcing approaches, and deliver measurable value.
- Manage assigned categories that may include IT hardware/software and services, telecom, professional services (legal, consulting), HR-related services, safety/PPE, facilities services, financial services, and other corporate/indirect spend areas as needed.
- Support administration of the Company’s fleet management program, including coordination with internal stakeholders and fleet service providers, support of sourcing/contracting needs, and tracking/reporting as required.
- Manage competitive sourcing events and contract renewals across a range of spend levels and contract complexities.
- Monitor marketplace conditions and recommend commercial strategies (e.g., pricing models, service levels, contract terms) to optimize total cost, service performance, and risk.
- Advance sourcing processes, templates, and tools to drive consistent governance, efficient cycle times, and strong supplier outcomes.
- Identify, quantify, and communicate savings, cost avoidance, and other value levers; track results and key assumptions in partnership with Finance.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing teams through the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, including requirements definition, RFI/RFP/RFQ development, bid evaluation, negotiations, award recommendations, and implementation.
- Bring innovative supplier and commercial solutions to maximize value, including standardization, demand management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage supplier performance through KPI/SLA governance, business reviews, issue resolution, and escalation management as required.
- Ensure sourcing and contracting activities comply with applicable policies, controls, regulatory requirements, and legal/ethical standards.
- Provide contract lifecycle support, including scope clarification, negotiation support, renewal planning, supplier communications, and coordination of internal approvals.
- Prioritize and manage a portfolio of sourcing initiatives to support business needs, manage workload, and meet timelines.
- Prepare clear sourcing documentation and stakeholder communications, including bid summaries, recommendations, and award justifications.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred)
- Experience: 3 – 5+ years of experience
- Special skills: Strategic sourcing and contracting experience supporting corporate/indirect categories (e.g., IT, professional services, HR, Safety, Finance) and/or other procurement categories as needed.
- Travel Requirements: 5 - 10% travel.
