Category Merchandiser

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide merchandising assistance to assigned category team to ensure objectives for sales, profit and customer shopping experience are being met.
• Serve as liaison between the Store Support Center and the stores, regularly communicating merchandising plans, ad programs and in stock conditions.
• Work closely with the supply chain team to achieve expectations.
• Regularly visit stores to conduct detailed walk-throughs and evaluate how sales/merchandising programs are being executed.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to store managers and associates to enhance their overall business awareness, merchandising program execution and focus on the customer.
• Aid the category team in communicating merchandising plans for new items, sale items, promotional tie-ins, displays and signage to meet or exceed sales and profit objectives for the assigned category team.
• Develop a deep understanding and awareness of merchandising programs, sales building, and profitability initiatives through timely communication to relevant store associates.
• Interview the supplier community to develop a strong overall merchandising/ad program for the assigned categories.
• Affirm the consideration of new innovations and adherence to all processes when evaluating categories and implementing POGs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field or equivalent combination of education and 3 years’ retail management experience.
• Experience in report analysis.
