What You'll Do
- Lead Category Strategy
- Develop and execute strategic business plans for Electronics, Wearable Apparel, and Packaged Foods that align with overall merchandising objectives.
- Identify emerging consumer trends, competitive opportunities, and assortment gaps to grow category performance.
- Build promotional calendars, pricing strategies, and product assortments that drive sales, margin, and customer engagement.
- Manage national sales planning, including product launches, promotional offers, retail pricing, and cost management.
- Drive Business Growth Through Analytics
- Monitor key performance metrics including sales, margin, inventory productivity, SKU performance, and customer demand.
- Translate data into actionable recommendations that improve assortment, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct financial analysis to maximize gross profit while delivering value to customers.
- Build Strategic Supplier Partnerships
- Serve as the primary business partner for assigned vendors across multiple product categories.
- Lead negotiations involving product costs, promotional funding, allowances, marketing support, and supplier agreements.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Logistics teams to ensure consistent product availability and successful product launches.
- Create Best-in-Class Assortments
- Develop product assortments that reflect customer preferences, seasonal trends, and evolving market demands.
- Lead planogram development and merchandising strategies that maximize productivity and improve the shopping experience.
- Evaluate new product opportunities, oversee in-store testing, and make recommendations for national rollout.
- Collaborate Across the Organization
- Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, Pricing, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to execute category strategies.
- Communicate promotional plans, assortment updates, inventory expectations, and key initiatives to cross-functional partners.
- Support field teams by providing merchandising guidance and category expertise.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2–5 years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, Buying, Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or a related field.
- Experience managing or supporting categories such as consumer electronics, wearable products, apparel accessories, packaged foods, snacks, or convenience retail is highly valued.
- Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience negotiating with vendors and building collaborative supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional retail environment.
