As the Senior Category Manager for Direct Materials, you’ll have the opportunity to design and implement procurement strategies that ensure supply security, meet financial objectives, and drive long-term category development.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor procurement strategies to ensure supply security, meet financial and budget objectives, and support mid- to long-term category developments.
- Apply technical expertise in direct materials and procurement processes to evaluate supply markets and select the best suppliers.
- Lead negotiations and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal quality, price, and service.
- Oversee the selection and quality of materials, ensuring compliance with PMI and regulatory standards.
- Design and implement programs to streamline products and processes, challenging the status quo to realize productivity gains.
- Review and approve contracts and price lists to ensure accurate documentation and supplier performance measurement.
- Guide and motivate decentralized procurement team members and stakeholders to foster growth and development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of procurement experience with a focus on purchasing, planning, development, or quality assurance functions.
- Significant experience in purchasing, product development, and quality management within a multinational environment.
- Experience with raw ingredient materials and packaging buying.
- Strong people leadership experience.
- In-depth understanding of the supply market and related service categories.
- University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, or Engineering.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- In-depth knowledge of negotiation techniques.
- Good command of process engineering and understanding of manufacturing environments.
- Strong project management skills.
- Effective time management.
Pay
Base Salary Range = $149,600 - $187,000
