This role will be based in New York, Philadelphia, Edina, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, or Dallas. This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office.
About the role
The Analytics and Advisory department within Guy Carpenter acts in support of clients and broking operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage catastrophe modeling projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables.
- Contribute to meaningful and insightful client discussions regarding reinsurance strategy, underwriting support, pricing adequacy, and portfolio management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and colleagues, while helping to respond promptly to client questions and concerns.
- Develop expertise in region-specific and/or peril-specific areas of catastrophe risk management services through research, training, and hands-on experience.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with various catastrophe models and a broad range of insurance segments.
- Strong data management skills, including manipulating, interpreting, and extrapolating complex data using tools such as Data Bricks, MS SQL, Python, and R.
- Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical analysis into clear terms for brokers and clients.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with financial aptitude and fundamental knowledge of the reinsurance industry.
- Curious, proactive, and adaptable mindset with the ability to learn quickly, lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion, and grow beyond current capabilities.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Reinsurance experience.
- Experience at a reinsurance broker.
- Practical experience applying AI techniques (including machine learning and modern large-language models) to automate processes.

Pay
The applicable base salary range for this role is $79,500 to $145,800. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
