About the role

The Watch Cataloguer supports the Marketplace Watch department in New York, cataloging watches, clocks, and related properties. They assist with online and printed catalogues, valuations, and provide general departmental support.

Responsibilities

• Research and catalogue property to the highest standard, collaborating with the Watch Merchandising Manager
• Aid in online and printed catalogue production, ensuring timely photography, color-proofing, and accurate text
• Work with the Watch Merchandising Manager on valuations and follow up on consignment requests
• Develop business contacts and strategic opportunities
• Manage authentication requests
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in an auction house or retail environment focused on the watches industry
• Strong research and writing skills
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize
• High level of attention to detail
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Enthusiasm and willingness to broaden knowledge
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekend hours when necessary

Pay

The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $55,000-$65,000. In addition to base salary, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package.
