About the role
The Driver’s main priority is to transport Ohio Machinery's general construction equipment to and from customers and/or other locations via tractor-trailer (dovetail). This position includes loading and unloading equipment, securing loads, and providing great customer service. As a team member of the rental department, the Driver will ensure the completion of Rental agreements and inspect equipment before delivery and upon return.
This is a Union position.
Responsibilities
- Transport construction equipment to and from customer locations using a tractor-trailer (dovetail).
- Load and unload equipment safely and efficiently.
- Secure loads to ensure safe transport.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Complete Rental agreements and inspect equipment before delivery and upon return.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Class A CDL License and a current DOT Medical Certification Card (or ability to obtain before employment).
- Clean driving record (less than 4 points).
- Ability and CDL endorsement to operate a manual transmission.
- Prior experience as a truck driver is required.
- Familiarity with construction equipment operation is highly preferred.
- Must join a labor union.

Physical Requirements
- Lifting, carrying, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Standing, sitting, moving up and down stairs, and climbing on and off delivery vehicles and into machines.
- Normal dexterity and repetitive movements involving hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Noise levels vary from quiet (office settings) to moderate or loud (other situations), with potential for sudden loud noises.
