About the role
H.O. Penn Machinery is hiring an immediate Cat Rental Sales Representative in Bronx, NY. The position offers up to $55,000 base salary, up to $30,000 in guaranteed pre-paid commission, and up to $85,000 in on-target earnings (OTE) for the first year. Responsibilities
- Achieve overall branch goals through promoting profitable rental of Cat & Allied equipment and sales of Allied equipment in the assigned sales territory.
- Identify and contact new and existing customers in the assigned territory to influence their buying and rental decisions.
- Manage leads, customer information, and sales records effectively.
- Use all selling tools, including the telephone, computer, software, wireless communications, and other means to promote the features, benefits, and overall value of Caterpillar and allied equipment.
- Collaborate with other sales and rental team members to accurately and efficiently process rental and sales orders, address customer concerns, and maximize rental and sales business and growth.
- Manage and develop the assigned rental and sales territory, contributing to the achievement of branch goals.
- Maintain accurate data on the activities of customers within the territory and communicate all relevant information to other members of the H.O. Penn Cat Rental Store Rental & Sales team.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate a comprehensive awareness of the state of the construction industry as well as all competitive activity within the territory.
- Seek solutions consistent with H.O. Penn's mission and goals, representing the customer's needs.
- Work closely with other members of H.O. Penn's team to maximize customer service.
- Continuously develop product/industry knowledge and business acumen.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the equipment rental business, with experience in rental sales preferred.
- Strong business development skills for prospecting and cultivating new accounts.
- Effective organizational experience to manage leads, customer information, and sales records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.
- High proficiency using Microsoft Office and other software.
- Good influencing skills and economically motivated.
- A valid driver’s license for travel.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Hand coordination for typing, writing, and computer use.
- Occasional forward bending and reaching.
- Occasional walking and climbing stairs.
- Carrying (up to 20lbs.).
