CAT II Spanish Linguist

About the role

Torden LLC is seeking a qualified, experienced professional Spanish linguist to provide language support services to military operations in support of ongoing, real-world operations, which may include intelligence operations. As a CAT II Spanish linguist, you will provide interpretation, translation, and transcription. The mission may operate 24/7, requiring flexibility to work specific shifts based on operational tempo. Assignments depend on mission needs and Government requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation, translation, and transcription from Spanish to English and vice versa.
• Understand and accurately follow conversations between educated native speakers.
• Comprehend radio broadcasts, news stories, oral reports, and public addresses on non-technical subjects.
• Work quickly and professionally as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Interpretation and reading proficiency in Spanish (ILR Level 3).
• Interpretation and translation from Spanish to English (ILR Level 3).
• Working proficiency in English (ILR Level 3).
• Demonstrated ability to conduct accurate translation, transcription, and interpretation.
• Strong typing and computer skills.
• Ability to understand the essentials of speech in a standard dialect with a broad vocabulary, rarely requiring paraphrasing or explanation.

Security Requirements

• Active SECRET security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship (mandatory for this position).
