About the Job

Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree or a combination of education and experience to equal 4 years
Proficiency in basic biology laboratory skills and standard laboratory safety protocols.
Demonstrated experience with ELISA, biochemical analysis, and the processing of plasma samples.
Strong background in statistical analysis and experience drafting scientific manuscripts.
Proficiency in cell culture techniques, including experience handling both cell lines and primary cell cultures under strict sterile conditions.
Proven experience with protein isolation and immunoblotting (Western blot) techniques.

Preferred Qualifications: Interest in learning the design, fabrication, and implementation of microfluidic devices.
Proficiency in, or a strong willingness to learn, phlebotomy.

About The Job

40% Experimental Design & Laboratory Research: Design and conduct experiments focusing on ELISA, biochemical analysis of plasma samples, and cell culture assays.
Process plasma samples and maintain high-quality sample and cell workflows.
Supervise and mentor junior scientists and undergraduate students in daily laboratory operations.
Maintain excellent, highly detailed, real-time documentation of all experimental procedures and data (at least daily).

30% Data Analysis & Collaboration: Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, including statistical analysis.
Prepare publication-quality figures for manuscripts, presentations, and reports.
Maintain an up-to-date expertise in relevant scientific literature.
Communicate effectively and meet regularly with internal and external collaborators.

20% Write Manuscripts & Reports: Draft and edit manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, progress reports, and abstracts.
Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) with grant-writing and proposal preparation.
Attend regular progress meetings with the PI.

5% Presentations: Present data, updates, and literature reviews at lab meetings, as well as local and international conferences.

5% Laboratory Management: Support: Assist the junior scientist with general laboratory management, including inventory tracking, ordering supplies, space organization, and other miscellaneous laboratory duties.

Pay And Benefits

Pay Range: $20.00/hour ; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
