About the role
PAML, a Labcorp company, is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Spokane, WA. In this role, you will support laboratory operations by handling, processing, and preparing clinical specimens for testing while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
- Scan and/or perform data entry of specimen and patient information
- Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
- Replenish test bench supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate’s degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science (preferred)
- 6+ months of hospital or lab specimen processing experience (preferred)
- 6+ months of experience in a clinical or research laboratory (preferred)
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Pay
$17.75 - $26.12 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible for the 401(k) Plan only. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
