About the role

The role involves performing basic nursing skills and serving under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Prepares for provider visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
• Auxiliaries with exams, procedures, and immunizations for adult and child patients.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Auxiliaries with patient examinations and procedures during provider visits.
• Educates patients on follow-up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Auxiliaries with patients' completion of medical documentation.
• Records test results in patient charts and contacts patients as necessary regarding tests.
• Thoroughly cleans and stocks each examination room weekly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Current National Certification as CMA.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is preferred.
• One (1) year of healthcare experience is preferred.
