About the role

The Casting Technician performs casting finishing duties and other operations as required. Responsibilities include operator maintenance on foundry equipment, setup and operation of investment foundry machines, manufacturing and testing parts to engineering and customer standards, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate miscellaneous investment foundry machines and equipment
  • Manufacture and/or test parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications
  • Maintain accurate and reliable documentation
  • Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material, and tooling requirements
  • Perform inspection and testing to ensure parts meet manufacturing standards and specifications
  • Inspect parts to ensure they are free of defects
  • Provide input for selecting, installing, and adjusting foundry equipment
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, flash, etc., from parts to meet engineering requirements
  • Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure accurate records
  • Communicate shift change requirements to team members
  • Perform operator maintenance and assist in repairing foundry equipment
  • Responsible for product safety and quality of work as defined in the Company’s Quality Policy

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of industrial experience
  • Investment Casting experience preferred; wax room (injection press and assembly) experience desirable
  • Effective interaction with team members, customers, and all levels of management
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret manufacturing requirements
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist (assistance required for weights over 50 lbs.)
  • Capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
  • Grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed (may be subject to a security investigation)
