Casino Light Equipment Operator

About the role

Constructs and maintains landscaped areas, parking lots, service roads, and signage; clears areas in preparation for additional work; ensures availability of items to complete projects on time; coordinates workflow and ensures safety of guests and co-workers. Reports to the Grounds Manager.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including forklifts, backhoes, zero-turn mowers, tractors, and skid loaders to construct and maintain landscaped areas, fences, parking lots, building pads, and service roads.
• Perform basic maintenance of equipment such as oil changes, replacing filters and spark plugs, and replacing or sharpening blades.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure availability in safe operating condition.
• Complete assigned work orders and maintenance projects.
• Transport mowers and other heavy equipment to and from work sites.
• Respond to emergency situations such as snow or ice on sidewalks to resolve immediate safety concerns.
• Excavate property including dirt, asphalt, concrete, and debris for installing or repairing landscaped areas and fields in a safe and clean condition.

Requirements

• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Mechanically inclined with prior experience meeting the technical and mechanical requirements of the job.
• Basic knowledge of chemical interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
• Knowledge of cleaning machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and basic repair.
• General knowledge of cleaning and maintenance requirements in the hospitality/casino industry.
• Adhere to safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Two or more years’ experience operating equipment including forklifts, backhoes, zero-turn mowers, tractors, and skid loaders.
