About the role
The casino housekeeper is responsible for cleaning all slot machines, floors, glass, walls, stairs, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and employees.
Responsibilities
- Clean all slot machines, floors, windows, walls, stairs, and elevators.
- Vacuum all casino floors and mop floors around service bars, restrooms, offices, and entrances.
- Clean, disinfect, and restock all restrooms.
- Remove all trash and debris from machines, floors, and trash cans, and deposit in outside dumpsters.
- Clean up biohazard fluids while wearing appropriate protective gear.
- Complete all company-required training within designated time frames.
- Provide superior guest service and maintain a positive, friendly attitude with guests and employees.
- Report to work in a neat, clean, and pressed uniform with well-groomed hair and personal hygiene.
- Answer calls promptly and maintain politeness.
- Knowledge of all special events and promotions available to guests.
- Comply with drug and alcohol-free workplace policies, subject to post-offer, for-cause, and post-accident drug tests.
Requirements
- Ability to use a vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, hand tools, buffer, ladders, and shop vac.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and ability to wear gloves while cleaning.
- Ability to perform duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive or confined environment.
- Physical demands: walking (40%), bending (30%), lifting (20%—overhead, arms length up to 20 lbs., up to 100 lbs. with assistance), and standing (10%).
- Ability to work in a brightly lit, smoke-filled casino environment with varying noise levels.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, follow instructions, and understand visual aids.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Missouri Gaming License.
