About the role
The Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional beverage service by preparing, promoting, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a fast-paced casino environment. This role ensures guest satisfaction by providing knowledgeable drink service, maintaining compliance with all alcohol service regulations, and supporting an engaging guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Practice, support, and maintain the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming
- Provide prompt, friendly, and efficient beverage service to all guests
- Prepare, sell, and serve cocktails and other beverages according to standards
- Engage with guests regarding beverage selections, styles, and recommendations
- Upsell and promote beverage offerings while maintaining responsible alcohol service
- Absess guest intoxication levels and take appropriate action when necessary
- Comply with all local, state, and federal alcohol service laws and company policies
- Operate bar systems including refrigeration, post-mix syrups, and beer systems
- Maintain stock control procedures and ensure proper beverage inventory usage
- Process payments and comp authorizations accurately; balance register at shift end
- Develop drink specials, promotions, and menu offerings
- Train and support beverage servers transitioning into bartender roles
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area at all times
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and compliance sessions
- Communicate guest feedback, concerns, or operational issues to leadership
- Promote positive guest relations and teamwork across departments
- Maintain a professional, clean, and polished appearance at all times
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year bartending experience in a high-volume bar, nightclub, fine dining, or service bar environment
- Strong knowledge of cocktails and beverage preparation techniques
- Ability to provide excellent guest service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow responsible alcohol service practices
- Preferred experience as a mixologist in high-volume or specialty beverage environments
- Prior experience training or mentoring beverage staff
- Certification Requirements: TIPS Alcohol Awareness Certification or equivalent, ServSafe Certification (preferred or required depending on assignment), Nebraska Gaming License (required and must be maintained)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, walking, and repetitive motion throughout shifts
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (kegs, supplies, ice, cases)
- Frequent interaction with guests in loud and crowded settings
- Ability to maintain composure and service quality under pressure
