Cashier/Sales Associate - Store 5081

About the Role

Our Sales Associates are the heart of the store, keeping it clean, inviting, and running smoothly for every customer. The role involves both front‑of‑house customer service and back‑of‑house upkeep, including maintaining bathrooms, parking lots, and pump areas. If you enjoy helping people, don’t mind getting a little dirty, and take pride in keeping a store safe and tidy, this position is for you.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Become an expert in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while ensuring age‑verification compliance.
• Offer friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
• Deep‑clean high‑use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps (nozzles, screens, water buckets).
• Pick up litter and trash from the floor and lot area.
• Take out trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
• Maintain a clean and organized store: sweep, mop, clean windows, and keep entryways tidy.
• Cross‑train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Be a team player and step in to help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays, embracing the full rhythm of retail.
• Willingness to work hard, stay on your feet for most of the shift, and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
• Physical ability to frequently lift 10 lb and occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
• Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and a criminal‑history background check.
• Friendly, personable demeanor with a knack for making people feel welcome.
• Detail‑oriented, noticing the little things that improve the customer experience.
• Punctual, trustworthy, and proud of one’s work.
• Adaptable and ready to take on a variety of tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous retail or customer‑service experience is a plus but not required.
