Cashier/Sales Associate - Store 4321

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Become an expert in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while ensuring compliance with age‑verification and legal requirements.
• Offer friendly service and upsell customers when possible to increase sales.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment, including deep cleaning high‑use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pump nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from the floor and lot area; take out trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise looking fresh and full.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways to keep the store organized.
• Cross‑train in other departments, such as the deli, as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Be a team player and step in to help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays, embracing the full rhythm of retail.
• Willingness to work hard, stay on your feet for most of the shift, and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
• Physical ability to frequently lift 10 lb and occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
• Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and a criminal‑history background check.
• Friendly, personable demeanor with a knack for making people feel welcome.
• Detail‑oriented, noticing the little things that improve the customer experience.
• Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and proud of one’s work.
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous retail or customer‑service experience is a plus but not required.
