Cashier/Sales Associate - Overnights

About the Role

Our third‑shift Sales Associates work independently overnight (typically 10 PM – 6 AM) and are responsible for keeping the store running smoothly when they are often the only employee on site. The role is ideal for confident, self‑motivated individuals who can stay alert, make sound decisions, and manage responsibilities without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and run the register with accuracy and speed.
• Become an expert in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while ensuring compliance with all age‑verification and legal requirements.
• Offer friendly service and upsell customers when possible to increase sales.
• Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe, including:
  • Deep cleaning high‑use restrooms.
  • Wiping down and sanitizing gas pumps (nozzles, screens, water buckets).
  • Picking up litter and trash from the floor and lot area.
  • Taking out the trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise looking fresh and full.
• Maintain a clean and organized store—sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways.
• Willingly cross‑train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Be a team player and step in to help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Age: Must be 18 years or older in CT, FL, LA, MI, MA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TX, TN, AZ, and CO; otherwise must be 21 years or older.
• Availability: Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and the overnight shift (typically 10 PM – 6 AM); full‑time and part‑time schedules are available.
• Willingness to work hard, stay on your feet for most of the shift, and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Communication: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Math proficiency: Basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Physical ability: Frequently lift 10 lb and occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
• Pre‑employment screening: Must pass a drug screen and a criminal‑history background check.
• Personal traits: Personable and positive demeanor, detail‑oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.
• Experience: Previous retail or customer‑service experience is a plus but not required; on‑the‑job learning is provided.

Schedule
