Cashier Sales Associate

About the role

This position is responsible for maintaining guest services, cash register operations (POS), generating sales, merchandising, signage, pricing, loss prevention, and store housekeeping in adherence to all company policy and store standards. The Cashier Sales Associate reports to the Store Location Manager.

Responsibilities

• Process information and merchandise through the cash register (POS) and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
• Oversee and authorize guest returns, exchanges, merchandise credits, check authorization, charge sends, rain checks, and discretionary discounts (e.g., competitive employee sales).
• Ensure completion of all POS transactions and proper control of cash and media at registers according to company policies.
• Assist in the preparation of daily deposits, change, and media (no access to safe combinations or manager keys).
• Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates.
• Oversee productivity, breaks, and daily scheduling of cashiers; communicate performance issues to management.
• Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and assembly of merchandise.
• Assist in receiving and monitoring floor stock; ensure re-wraps are done promptly.
• Execute price changes and markdowns.
• Assist in store housekeeping.

Pay

$16.00 hourly wage.
